Hi guys,total newbie here who has just purchased a technomate 5402 hd which is connected to existing sky dish.Have read what it seems like thousands of pages to try and learn how to set this box up and at the moment cant get secret menu up even though i.ve installed latest patch and add-on.Anything. The TM5402HD M2 M2 & M3 have different patch or genuine fw software & lots of versions of each & can be downloaded direct in the stb off the server (MENU/ ENTERTAINMENT >>TMOnline) or off the new download site & loaded via USB & it will reject the wrong version if you try to load the wrong one. Best is the latest on the M1 M2 (142p atm I think) & if you up date the software you can download from the server on the M1 & M2. There's loads of phantompatches already with different features, the later patches increase the IPTV channels to up to 2000 at a time & you can download other IPTV lists that quickly from the server or a usb stick it makes it virtually unlimited, IPTV channels that are posted all over the net can & do go off & need editing out/ updating. Different patches a better for different things IMO & you can swap them easily off usb (takes longer off the server) - eg: 114p, the first Phantompatch is best for the Spectrum Analyzer IMO, either 115p 116p or 117p for general use IMO, it's up to 120p on the server & I think 122p is the latest beta on line, haven't tested them all enough.

Click to expand.No, the M3 actually beat the M2 on DVB-S & with quite a margin on the hardest weak signal tests on Nilesat & Eutelsat 7WA pushing off satellite until one breaks up which left the M3 with say Fox Movies or MBC2 movies still on & glitch free & the M2 showing a blank screen & no signal - not seen that difference in tuners for a long time. DVB-S2 was either way & too close to call. Blind scan is much faster too & more accurate on the M3.

Just remembered some newer patches had loads of extra programming for a lot of enthusiast's requests that did I believe have an effect on tuner sensitivity - we don't use those patches, just 115p 116p 117p (& 114p for the best Spectrum s/w) - not sure about the very latest patches- they all download direct anyway except for some beta testing ones.
